Job summary

Samsara is seeking a Threat Detection Engineer to join the Threat Detection and Response team. You will own end-to-end detection lifecycle, build signals, and collaborate with security operations and engineering across the company.

The role requires strong Python/SQL skills, hands-on experience with SIEMs and CI/CD, and familiarity with AWS, Linux, containers, and EDR. Remote-friendly with a flexible working model.

Qualifications

• Strong Python and SQL skills with ability to analyze large datasets to build detections.
• Hands-on experience with detection-as-code, Git-based workflows, automated testing, and CI/CD.
• Deep experience with modern SIEM platforms, data onboarding, dashboards, and threat intel enrichment.
• Working knowledge of AWS, Linux, containers, and EDR.

Responsibilities

• Own the full detection lifecycle from hypothesis to retirement.
• Build and operate signals, pipelines, and tooling powering threat detection.
• Collaborate with Security Operations, AppSec, and Enterprise Security on investigations and incidents.
• Evaluate AI-powered security capabilities and integration risks.
