Samsara is seeking a Senior Threat Detection Engineer to build and run detection signals across cloud, endpoint, and identity telemetry. You’ll own the full detection lifecycle and evolve our detection-as-code platform while working with Security Operations and engineering teams.

Qualifications

• 6+ years in security engineering or related field.
• Strong Python and SQL skills with large data analysis experience.
• Hands-on with detection-as-code, Git-based workflows, CI/CD.
• Deep experience with modern SIEM platforms and threat intel.
• Knowledge of AWS, Linux, containers, and EDR.
• Proven ability to build systems from scratch and lead projects.

Responsibilities

• Build and operate signals, pipelines, and tooling for threat detection.
• Own the full detection lifecycle from hypothesis to deployment and retirement.
• Advance detection-as-code platform with version control, testing, and CI/CD.
• Identify threat surfaces and strengthen data ingestion and coverage.
• Evaluate AI-powered security capabilities and risk in MCP integrations.
• Turn threat intel into actionable detection and retrospective scanning.
• Collaborate with Security Operations during investigations and drills.
• Champion Samsara’s cultural principles while scaling globally.
