Job summary

Raytheon in North Texas seeks a Senior Engineering Technician to support manufacturing operations and process development in thin film areas, including deposition, drilling, lithography, and plating. The role is onsite in McKinney, TX, working with design, process, and test teams to optimize yields and ensure product quality.

The ideal candidate has a STEM degree and 10+ years of relevant experience, with strong problem-solving skills and familiarity with SPC/DOE methods.

Qualifications

• Requires minimum 10 years of prior relevant experience.
• Knowledge of thin film equipment including PVD deposition, laser drilling, photolithography, plating or wet chemical etching.
• U.S. citizenship is required to access information under this program/contract.
• Strong problem-solving skills with experience in process optimization and defect mitigation.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering and production support for multiple thin film processes including PVD metal deposition, laser drilling, photolithography, electroplating, electroless plating, and wet chemical etching.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support manufacturing operations and process development from a materials perspective, including failure analysis and materials qualifications.
• Support process improvements activities utilizing SPC and experimental designs (DOE).
• Support materials, equipment, and manufacturing processes, including qualification, acceptance testing, and specification development.
• Support process and design improvements through RCCA, lessons learned, and defect analysis.
• Provide equipment and process training to manufacturing operators, ensuring alignment with materials and process requirements.
• Support production with on-site responsiveness to factory equipment, process, materials, and product problems; write shop process documentation.
• Develop and execute new product builds typically with automated equipment, often requiring creative solutions for next-generation product designs.
• Process improvement projects to improve factory productivity using new technologies and materials qualification.
• Capital equipment down-selection and integration to meet current and future business needs.
• Effective cross-functional communication of technical information.
