Job summary

Pratt & Whitney is seeking a Senior Engineering Technician to support APC Manufacturing Engineering in Texas. The role focuses on manufacturing operations and process development for thin film processes, including deposition, photolithography, and plating, collaborating with design, process, and test teams to optimize yields and ensure product quality.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years of relevant experience, a STEM degree, and citizenship in the United States.

Qualifications

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in STEM.
• Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.
• Knowledge of thin film equipment including PVD deposition, laser drilling, photolithography, plating or wet chemical etching.
• U.S. citizenship is required.
• Preferred degree in Mechanical Engineering or Materials Science.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering and production support for multiple thin film processes including PVD deposition, laser drilling, photolithography, electroplating, electroless plating, and wet chemical etching.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support manufacturing operations and process development from a materials perspective.
• Support process improvements using SPC techniques and experimental designs.
• Support materials, equipment, and manufacturing processes, including qualification, acceptance testing, and specification development.
• Support process and design improvements through RCCA, lessons learned, and defect analysis.
• Provide equipment and process training to manufacturing operators.
• Support production with on-site responsiveness to factory equipment, process, materials, and product problems.
• Develop and write shop process documentation and implement data-driven methods like SPC and DOE.
• Develop and execute new product builds typically with automated equipment.
• Lead process improvement projects to boost productivity and qualification of new materials and capital equipment.
