Job summary

Johnson Controls in New Freedom, PA, onsite, seeks a Principal Thermal Systems Engineer to own full lifecycle of next-gen data center cooling systems. You will drive design, validation, and production launches, coordinating with global teams to translate customer needs into certified, manufacturable solutions.

The role emphasizes heat transfer analysis, system sizing, and collaboration across engineering disciplines with relocation support available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar discipline.
• 4+ years of heat transfer, thermodynamic analysis, and fluid mechanics experience.
• Experience in commercial HVAC industry, preferably chillers.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute complex thermal product development from concept to production.
• Own PDP deliverables (DFMEA, PFMEA, Control Plans) and validation tests.
• Collaborate with design and manufacturing to optimize cost, performance and reliability.
• Lead cross-functional teams and coordinate engineering changes in SAP.
