Job summary

General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems (OTS) is seeking aSenior Mechanical Engineer to join the Solid Rocket Motor Engineering Team. You will conduct detailed thermal analysis of solid rocket motor components and collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to drive technical excellence.

The position is full-time with a 9/80 schedule and can be remote or based in Huntsville, AL or Hampton, AR facilities.

Qualifications

• Minimum: Associate's Degree in Engineering and 8–10 years of experience.
• Engineering degree required; candidate should have strong thermal analysis background.
• Proficient with CAD/CAE tools and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed thermal analysis of solid rocket motor components.
• Size internal insulation, external thermal protection systems, and structural insulators.
• Validate models with test data and develop predictive ablation/erosion models.
• Create reports documenting analysis and present findings to peers and customers.
