General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems is seeking a Principal Mechanical Engineer to join our Solid Rocket Motor Engineering Team. You will apply advanced thermal analysis principles to designed components, collaborating with cross-disciplinary teams and customers to drive technical excellence.

This full-time role offers a 9/80 schedule and can be remote or based at our Huntsville, AL or Hampton, AR facilities.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree and 8-10 years of experience required.
• Engineering degree required; CAD/CAE software skills a plus.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Performs detailed thermal analysis of solid rocket motor components.
• Sizes internal insulation and external thermal protection systems.
• Validates models with test data and develops predictive ablation/erosion models.
• Creates reports and presents findings in design reviews.
