Job summary

General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems (OTS) in Huntsville, AL, is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer with strong thermal analysis knowledge to join our Solid Rocket Motor Engineering Team. You will conduct detailed thermal analyses of solid rocket motor components and collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams, customers, and stakeholders.

This full-time role offers a 9/80 schedule with remote option and locations in Huntsville, AL or Hampton, AR.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree and 8-10 years' experience.
• Engineering degree required.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Applies advanced engineering techniques to design, install, modify, analyze, repair and test tools, engines, machines, and other mechanically functioning equipment.
• Guides the interpretation of blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and computer-generated reports.
• Collaborates with engineers to implement operating procedures, resolve system malfunctions, and provide technical information.
• Researches and analyzes customer design proposals, specifications, manuals, and other data to evaluate feasibility, cost, and maintenance requirements.
