Job summary

General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems (OTS) seeks a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join the Solid Rocket Motor Engineering Team. The role covers mechanical design, integration, and CAD modeling for critical motor hardware.

Remote option available with on-site collaboration at Huntsville, AL; Niceville, FL; or Hampton, AR. The position emphasizes design, instrumentation and interface engineering with a focus on safety, performance, and manufacturability, supporting the full lifecycle

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree with 5–7 years' experience required.
• Engineering degree required.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and integrate mechanical components for solid rocket motor systems.
• Create CAD models, drawings, and specifications for motor cases, nozzles, insulation, joints and interfaces.
• Collaborate with analysts to ensure performance, safety and manufacturability.
• Maintain configuration control and provide technical support to manufacturing and test operations.
• Support full product lifecycle from concept to static fire test activities.
