General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems (OTS) is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer for our Solid Rocket Motor Engineering Team. The role focuses on mechanical design integration of solid propulsion systems, creating CAD models, drawings, and specifications for motor hardware, and ensuring compatibility with manufacturing and testing activities.

The position offers remote options with on-site facilities in Huntsville, AL, Niceville, FL, or Hampton, AR, and travel up to 25%.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree and 5-7 years' experience required.
• Engineering degree required.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Bachelor's Degree preferred.
• Strong communication and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and integrate mechanical components for solid rocket motor systems.
• Create CAD models, drawings, and specifications for hardware (cases, nozzles, insulation, joints).
• Collaborate with structural, thermal, and propulsion analysts to meet performance and manufacturing requirements.
• Maintain configuration control and provide technical support to manufacturing and test operations.
• Lead projects or project steps within broader programs when applicable.
