Job summary

CesiumAstro is seeking a Senior Thermal Engineer to design, analyze, and validate thermal control systems for next‑gen satellites and airborne platforms. You’ll lead thermal designs from concept through detailed design, simulation, and qualification, collaborating with electrical and mechanical engineers on integrated solutions.

Qualifications

• BS or higher in Mechanical, Thermal, or Aerospace Engineering.
• 5+ years in thermal/mechanical design and analysis; MS may count as 2 years.
• Expertise in electronics/PCBA, box and system-level thermal design.
• Proficient in ANSYS or Thermal Desktop and SolidWorks.
• Experience with radiative, conductive and convective heat transfer.
• Ability to build thermal resistance networks and reduced-order models.
• Capable of correlating models with TVAC/test results.
• Experience developing analysis automation tools.

• Lead thermal designs from concept through validation in a cross-functional team.
• Present design reviews to customers and management; contribute to proposals.
