Job summary

CHAOS Industries is seeking a Staff Thermal Engineer in El Segundo, CA, to perform thermal and fluid-flow analyses of electronics components, CCAs, and enclosures. You will develop ANSYS Icepak models, plan tests, and provide design guidance to improve thermal performance across multidisciplinary teams.

You will participate in design reviews, support testing, and ensure robust thermal solutions for cabinets, coldplates, and heat exchangers, with opportunities for career growth and industry

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related STEM field.
• 7+ years of relevant experience in electronics thermal analysis or related.
• Hands-on experience with ANSYS Icepak for electronics cooling.
• Strong knowledge of heat transfer, thermodynamics, and fluid mechanics.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Perform hand calculations and detailed thermal analyses of components, CCAs, and enclosures.
• Develop and use ANSYS Icepak models for electronics cooling and internal flows.
• Analyze cooling systems including cabinets, coldplates, and heat exchangers.
• Assess temperatures, flow distribution, pressure drop, and thermal margins.
