Job summary

Astrolab, The Lunar Operations Company, seeks a control systems engineer to develop active thermal control for lunar rover systems with tight power budgets. You will analyze, design, and validate thermal control performance, build modeling tools, and prototype flight-ready controllers to meet mission requirements.

You will contribute to calibration, testing, and documentation in collaboration with the vehicle software team, supporting robust, flight-ready solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in STEM is required.
• 10+ years of space vehicle thermal control system analysis, design, development, verification, and validation.
• Experience building, testing, and validating thermal control systems simulation and analysis tools for space vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Define thermal control system requirements from vehicle and subsystem level.
• Design, develop, tune, verify, and validate thermal control system performance.
• Build simulation and modeling tools for design, analysis and tuning.
• Prototype controllers meeting requirements using simulations and design tools.
• Define sizing and placement of thermal control components for efficiency.
• Tune controller performance using simulations and test data.
• Develop documentation and assist flight software integration and testing.
• Calibrate thermal system sensors and implement calibration in flight software.
