Job summary

Astrolab, The Lunar Operations Company, is seeking a control systems engineer in Hawthorne, CA to support active thermal control systems for lunar rovers. The role involves simulation, analysis, design, and validation of thermal control components with a focus on energy efficiency and reliability.

You will collaborate with hardware and software teams to integrate controllers into flight code and support testing in relevant environments.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of space vehicle thermal control system analysis, design, development, verification, and validation.
• Experience building, testing, and validating thermal control systems simulation and analysis tools for space vehicles.
• Strong proficiency with spacecraft thermal modeling and control system design tools (e.g., Thermal Desktop, Matlab).

Responsibilities

• Define thermal control system requirements from vehicle and subsystem level performance requirements.
• Design, develop, tune, verify, and validate vehicle thermal control system performance.
• Build simulation and modeling tools for design, analysis, and tuning of thermal control systems.
