Job summary

Voyager Technologies in Pittsburgh is seeking a Senior Thermal Engineer for Lunar Systems to design, test, and operate spacecraft thermal control systems for lunar landers and surface power equipment. Responsibilities include thermal modeling, vendor coordination, test planning, and coordination with engineering teams to ensure mission success.

A Bachelor's in aerospace/mechanical engineering and 8+ years of space thermal experience, or a Master's with 6+ years, is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, or similar Engineering with 8+ years in spacecraft thermal systems or Master's with 6+ years.
• Knowledge of spacecraft thermal system architecture, standards, and components.
• Experience with design/analysis of heaters, sensors, radiators, MLI, coatings, heat pipes, and related hardware.
• Experience with vendor management, requirements verification, and supplier inquiries.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support design, integration, testing, and operation of thermal control systems for spacecraft and lunar systems.
• Create conceptual and detailed designs for spacecraft thermal systems.
• Build and run thermal models to guide mission operations.
• Coordinate with program management and other subsystems on requirements and risks.
• Write test plans and support TVAC testing for components and subsystems.
• Provide mission operations procedures and real-time support.
