Job summary

Ursa Major in Colorado is seeking a Senior Thermal/Ablation Analyst to perform high‑fidelity thermal analyses ensuring performance and reliability of propulsion systems. You will collaborate with design, manufacturing, and test teams across development, qualification, and production programs.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Mechanical or Aerospace, 4+ years of thermal analysis experience, and proficiency with Thermal Desktop, SINDA/FLUINT, and ITRAC.

Qualifications

• Experience with high‑fidelity thermal analysis of aerospace components.
• Bachelor's in mechanical or aerospace engineering required.
• Ability to interpret drawings, specs and test data.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thermal modeling and analysis for components and systems under extreme conditions.
• Perform transient and steady‑state thermal analyses to evaluate heat transfer and material response.
• Develop and validate analytical models using industry software.
• Assess insulation, ablative materials, and TPS effectiveness.
• Correlate predictions with test data and refine models.
• Collaborate with design and manufacturing to optimize thermal performance.
• Prepare technical reports, presentations, and documentation.
• Participate in design reviews and failure investigations.
