Job summary

Personal Healthcare Management LLC in New York seeks a Recreation Director to lead the activities program for residents, directing development, implementation, supervision and evaluation. You will schedule groups, tailor activities to resident needs, and ensure care plans align with overall goals.

Requires certification eligibility in therapeutic recreation or related field, or two years of relevant experience including supervisory roles; associate or bachelor’s in Recreational Therapy

Qualifications

• Eligible for certification as a therapeutic recreation specialist or activities professional by a recognized accrediting body after Oct 1, 1990.
• Or 2 years of experience in a social or recreational program within the past 5 years, with 1 year in a therapeutic activities program.
• Or qualified occupational therapist or occupational therapy assistant.
• Or completed a state-approved training course.

Responsibilities

• Directs the development, implementation, supervision and ongoing evaluation of the activities program.
• Ensures a wide variety of activities for residents based on individualized care plans.
• Develops and maintains policies, procedures and calendars for activities and staffing.
• Plans, coordinates and accompanies residents on community outings and events.
• Maintains documentation and participates in care plan meetings and quality assurance initiatives.
