Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• TRD/therapeutic recreation certification as required.
• One year of full-time experience in a social or recreational program within health care within the last 2 years.

Responsibilities

• Puts Customer Service First: ensures high quality, compassionate care for residents and families.
• Gathers information for comprehensive assessment.
• Assist Recreation Director in planning programs aligned with treatment goals.
• Encourages resident involvement in recreation planning.
• Contributes to meaningful programs across creative, physical, social, and spiritual dimensions.
• Documents resident participation and progress in programming.
• Maintains records for program evaluation and revision.
• Assist in establishing and maintaining volunteer program through recruitment, training and supervision.
• Provide resources addressing residents' interests for independent engagement.
• Meet program goals and performance objectives.
• Assist in orientation and coaching of recreation assistants.
• Develop positive family relations and orient families to recreation services.
• Ensure safety and infection control standards across programs.
• Uphold confidentiality and resident rights.
• Performs other duties as requested.
