Job summary

Rubicon Theatre Company seeks a seasoned financial professional to manage daily accounting and reporting, working closely with the General Manager and Producing Artistic Director. This on-site role requires strong stewardship and a collaborative approach within a busy professional theatre.

The position handles full accounting cycles, budget tracking, and financial controls while supporting office operations and donor/ticketing processes.

Qualifications

• Five years of progressively responsible bookkeeping/accounting experience.
• Nonprofit and/or theatre/arts experience is preferred.
• Strong QuickBooks Desktop Pro and Excel skills; knowledge of accrual accounting and financial reporting.

Responsibilities

• Manage full accounting cycle and general ledger.
• Oversee AP/AR, payroll coordination, reimbursements, journal entries and deferrals.
• Reconcile bank, credit card, loan and balance sheet accounts monthly.
• Prepare monthly P&L, balance sheets, cash-flow and budget-to-actual reports.
• Coordinate annual audit, payroll tax reporting and 1099/990 filings.
• Maintain internal controls and monthly closing calendar.
• Support office operations and donor/ticketing system processes.
