The Senior Testing Specialist at The University of Texas at San Antonio will oversee the administration and coordination of student testing programs on campus. You will lead teams, coordinate resources, and ensure secure testing environments for a diverse student body.

Salary Range

$50,000 - $53,000 annualized.

Job Summary

The Senior Testing Specialist provides professional skills and abilities required in the administration and coordination of student testing programs.

Core Responsibilities
  • Responsible for leading and assisting in the overall administration of testing programs and consulting with students and parents concerning the testing programs.
  • Supervises and administers tests for non-students, current students, and future students.
  • Leads teams in the administration of national and institutional exams; assists in the development and implementation of processes and procedures for testing programs.
  • Coordinates material needs to ensure fair, equal, and secure testing environments. Directs test administration personnel.
  • Consults with prospective students and parents. Disseminates information concerning the various tests.
  • Maintains test registration files and records of test scores.
  • Maintains and enforces standards and policies for the confidentiality of test scores and materials.
  • Analyzes data from test programs; checks accuracy, confirms results, and validates reports.
  • Reviews data analysis processes and procedures, identifies and coordinates process improvements.
  • Conducts research studies evaluating the effectiveness of testing programs for academic placement, credit, and other purposes; works with the Testing Director to problem-solve and address issues.
  • Takes a proactive approach to assist co-workers in various tasks, to ensure safety.
  • Performs work tasks in a safe manner and in accordance with work instructions.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma, Vocational Training or Apprenticeship in a related field.
  • Seven (7) years of related work experience.
    • At the department’s discretion, a Bachelor’s degree may be substituted for four (4) years of experience.
  • This position may require the ability to maintain the security and integrity of UT San Antonio and its infrastructure per Texas EO-GA-48.
Preferred Qualification
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Experience at UT San Antonio or other institution of higher education.
  • Experience in testing related software such as Accuplacer/TSI and Pearson Vue.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Computers and related office equipment.
Working Conditions
  • Office Environment. Frequent Saturday work required as well as occasional evenings.
Physical Demands
  • Sedentary 65% of the time with standing and walking required 35% of the time. Exerts up to 10 lbs. of force occasional. Testing events may require lifting up to 25 pounds and prolonged standing with few breaks.

This position will work primarily on campus. Travel and parking expenses are the employee’s responsibility.

This position is contingent upon a successful background check. Verification of a valid driver’s license and Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) may be completed as applicable. Applicants selected must be able to show proof of eligibility to work in the United States by time of hire.
