Job summary

Accenture is seeking an experienced commissioning engineer to drive electrical start-up, testing and energization across NY projects. You will review scopes, develop commissioning plans, and coordinate with contractors, design engineers, operations and clients to ensure successful delivery.

You will lead multidiscipline teams, guide testing and commissioning activities, and produce required documentation, with travel across New York State as needed.

Qualifications

• Must have a BS/BA degree in an engineering discipline from an ABET accredited college/university and 5 years’ experience in construction, maintenance and testing of electrical equipment, relay protection and control systems, start-up and commissioning of electrical equipment and systems, electrical field engineering, arc flash safety training, troubleshooting of electrical equipment or systems.
• Specialized advanced training in SCADA and communication systems (e.g., PTI, WPI, ECNE PUI).
• Experience commissioning and testing electrical substations, including supervision of construction, commissioning, and energization activities.
• Knowledge of electrical systems, protection & control, and substation equipment.

Responsibilities

• Review project scope and required services prior to commissioning activities.
• Review protection schemes for incorporation into new designs.
• Develop commissioning plans including outage and energization; develop testing documentation forms.
• Collaborate with contractors, design engineers, operations teams, and clients to support project execution.
• Lead multidiscipline teams during commissioning; provide technical guidance and resolve testing/energization issues and deliver documentation.
• Flexible: mix of remote, onsite at client, or Accenture office/center; travel as needed across NYS.
