Job summary

Thea Energy Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Senior Test Technician to join our rapidly growing team in New Jersey.

You will be the hands-on bridge between test plans and real-world execution, building, assembling, operating, and troubleshooting high-current, high-vacuum, and cryogenic test stands for superconducting magnets and other fusion hardware. You will work with engineering and manufacturing teams to ensure rigorous data collection, safety compliance, and continuous process improvements

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on technical experience in shop fabrication, system assembly, hardware testing, or high-tech manufacturing.
• Experience building, operating, and troubleshooting two or more: superconducting magnets, high vacuum/cryogenic systems, high-power electrical or automated equipment.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, wire, plumb, and commission complex test articles and high-vacuum, cryogenic test stands.
• Operate multi-day test systems and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, cryogenic, thermal, and vacuum failures.
• Develop and improve test procedures and tooling for new tests and data integrity.
• Collaborate with test, magnet, manufacturing, electrical, and mechanical teams to align scope and results.
• Enforce safety protocols in high-current, high-field, and cryogenic environments; maintain 5S workspace and calibrate equipment.
• Mentor technicians and engineers in shop practices, schematics, and safe testing procedures.
