Job summary

AeroVironment seeks a Sr. Test Equipment Engineer to design, develop and implement cost-effective test methods for PCBAs, subsystems, and systems. The role supports integration and testing of unmanned aircraft systems and payloads.

Responsibilities include using NI TestStand and LabVIEW, C# development in Visual Studio, and cross-functional collaboration across disciplines to meet aggressive timelines. Expect to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Electrical or Software Engineering or equivalent
• 8–12 years of development test experience in manufacturing
• Experience with NI TestStand and LabVIEW or equivalent
• Ability to write test plans and bug/root-cause analyses
• Lead time/cost estimation for varying specs
• Knowledge of mechanical and electrical design and test instrumentation
• Strong knowledge of manual and automated testing methods
• Ability to drive results in tight timelines

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, deploy and upgrade test equipment for PCBAs and subsystems
• Perform C# / OOP software development using Visual Studio
• Develop test plans, requirements and strategies
• Analyze and format test results
• Lead teams and coordinate activities on projects
• Improve testability of product designs
• Execute tests on avionics power and propulsion components
• Provide feedback to design teams to improve testability
