Job summary

Rockwell Automation is seeking a Senior Software Test Engineer to ensure the quality of FactoryTalk Optix by creating and executing manual and automated tests. You will work with product owners, developers, and other testers to validate features, reproduce defects, and support regression and release testing.

The role focuses on solid test engineering practices, learning industrial automation concepts, and delivering a high-quality customer experience in a global context.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.
• Legal authorization to work in the US is required.
• Typically requires a minimum of 4 years of experience in software testing or test automation.

Responsibilities

• Create, maintain, and execute manual and automated tests for FactoryTalk Optix features.
• Validate design-time and runtime workflows to help ensure a reliable customer experience.
• Lead test planning, estimation, execution, and defect triage as part of an Agile team.
• Reproduce, document, and track defects with clear titles, descriptions, steps, and supporting details.
• Collaborate with developers, product owners, and other test engineers to understand requirements and acceptance criteria.
• Support regression, release, and exploratory testing activities.
• Contribute to test documentation, quality procedures, and continuous improvement of test practices.
