Job summary

General Dynamics Electric Boat in Groton, CT is seeking Test Engineers to join the COLUMBIA I&C & AC Power department. You will help design, test and document electrical systems for the Columbia-class submarines, working with a seasoned team on power distribution, reactor plant, steam plant and electric plant systems.

Qualifications

• 4+ years Navy experience.
• High school diploma.
• Nuclear Propulsion Plant experience (preferred).
• Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or related engineering degree (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Develop the test procedures for the first of a new class of submarines.
• Troubleshooting and construction support for electrical systems.
• Leading component qualification testing projects.
• Mentoring newer engineers as technical leaders and professionals.
• Supporting development of technical documentation, including manuals and maintenance specifications.
• Managing system interfaces including electrical, structural, piping, and mechanical.
• Supporting 3D model development and arrangement of systems and components.
• Overseeing subcontractor designs, manufacturing, testing, and qualification.
• Obtaining customer approval of designs via formal correspondence.
• Supporting construction, testing, and troubleshooting for Columbia-class submarines at Quonset Point and Groton shipyards.
