Job summary

General Dynamics Electric Boat in Groton, CT seeks an Entry-Level Engineer to support construction and testing of propulsion and electrical power systems for Columbia-class submarines. The role is on 2nd shift and involves hands-on work with shipyard teams.

You will learn EB processes, contribute to continuous improvement, and gain experience in electrical power systems in a collaborative environment. U.S. citizenship and security-clearance eligibility are required.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Engineering or another relevant engineering discipline.
• 0–5 years post-graduate engineering experience.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance through the U.S. DoD (U.S. citizen).

Responsibilities

• Support trades and waterfront personnel in construction and testing of IPS equipment.
• Assist in identifying issues on the deck plate and help develop timely solutions.
• Collaborate with Waterfront Engineers and IPS component/system owners to align engineering activities.
• Participate in power systems readiness meetings and verify construction processes/requirements are captured.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation, reports, and work instructions.
• Communicate with shipyard personnel to gather information and resolve technical questions.
• Learn EB processes, procedures, and core values.
• Document lessons learned and support follow-ship enhancements
