Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a Test Engineer to design, build, and commission electrical test equipment for space-grade fluids and thermal components on the Blue Moon Lunar lander program. You will develop data acquisition and control systems, support test activities, and ensure safety and quality in a hands-on environment.

You will lead multi-disciplinary testing efforts, coordinate with technicians, and participate in test readiness reviews, with travel and relocation support as part of the role.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant engineering field.
  • 3+ years of experience with electrical test equipment.
  • Experience with data acquisition, instrumentation and/or control systems.
  • Ability to read/interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
  • Proficiency with standard lab test equipment (oscilloscopes, DMMs, power meters, DAQ cards).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and prioritization abilities.
  • Solid safety record.

Responsibilities

  • Design, architect, procure, build, integrate, and checkout electrical ground support equipment (EGSE), including data acquisition systems, instrumentation, control systems, and wiring.
  • Support testing of Thermal and Fluid components across test types (development, qualification, acceptance, performance, environmental).
  • Create electrical design packages, drawings, harnesses, rack layouts, power distribution, and control elements.
  • Create/review Test Plans, Test Procedures, safety assessments, schematics, and other artifacts.
  • Identify and procure equipment; coordinate with technicians for build/installation of equipment and harnesses.
  • Support integration of test articles with EGSE, hardware, consoles, and test equipment to verify requirements.
  • Troubleshoot issues and support checkout of systems; resolve technical problems.
  • Maintain configuration control of drawings and test system configurations.
  • Participate in test readiness reviews, pre/post-test briefings, and post-test reviews.
  • Enforce safety policies during planning and operations.
  • Reduce, analyze, and archive test data.
  • Lead daily test operations; operate test consoles and coordinate with internal customers.
