Job summary

Avantor is seeking a Sr. Test Engineer for our Barrington, IL facility. This onsite role requires developing test protocols, coordinating lab testing of pumps and drives, and collaborating with Product Development to meet program milestones.

You will lead testing efforts, document methods, and train staff while ensuring conformance to regulatory and ISO standards. Strong communication and leadership are essential in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or Physics.
• 5-7 years relevant experience in product testing.
• Proficiency with test equipment.
• Knowledge of Design of Experiments, FMEA, Weibull Analysis, MTBF, ALT, Environmental and EMC testing.
• Understanding of Embedded systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop test plans to verify and validate Engineering specs.
• Assign Lab staff to perform tests on Tubing, Pumps, and electronic drives.
• Represent Testing on New Product Development programs and translate requirements into test plans.
• Ensure all testing follows ISO Phase-Gate processes and document results.
• Develop and document test methods and train team members on testing procedures.
• Conduct tests and record data for components, prototypes, and end products.
