Collins Aerospace is seeking a Mechanical Engineer in Rockford, IL to work onsite on fluid systems and pump technology. You will engage in manufacturing, assembly, testing, and troubleshooting to deliver reliable performance and drive improvements across engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams.

The role emphasizes root-cause analysis, collaboration across functions, and hands-on problem solving with a strong focus on product reliability and process enhancements.

Qualifications

• Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) required or equivalent
• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience or an Advanced Degree
• Aerospace/mechanical experience is a plus

Responsibilities

• Support fluid systems and pump technology activities across manufacturing, assembly, testing and troubleshooting
• Troubleshoot production issues using root cause analysis to identify and resolve problems
• Assist in implementing design and process improvements to address defects and performance issues
• Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, quality and supply chain to boost product quality and efficiency
• Participate in field issue investigations and support corrective actions
• Communicate findings and project updates to internal teams and customers
• Identify risks and help mitigate delays and ensure timely completion of projects
• Support continuous improvement initiatives related to pump performance and reliability
• Attend project status meetings to review progress and priorities
• Support overall process improvements and manufacturing reliability initiatives
