Job summary

Avantor is seeking a Project Engineer to lead engineering projects and provide technical expertise. The role covers concept to completion with emphasis on schedules, budgets, and quality in a manufacturing environment.

You will drive major project phases, collaborate with contractors and internal teams, review designs, and support compliance and risk management while developing P&IDs and 3D models in AutoCAD/SOLIDWORKS.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical field.
• 5–8+ years of engineering and project management experience in manufacturing or related environment.
• Experience leading engineering projects from conception to completion.
• PE license or EIT certification preferred; PMP preferred.
• Experience with capital projects, facility improvements, and regulated environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering projects and provide technical expertise across complex assignments.
• Coordinate project phases, manage schedules, budgets, and quality requirements.
• Analyze challenges, evaluate alternatives, and propose cost-effective solutions.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial tracking to stay within funding levels.
• Review designs, calculations, specifications, and drawings for accuracy and standards.
• Develop P&IDs using AutoCAD; create and review site layouts and 3D models in SOLIDWORKS.
• Manage contractor activities, including invoices reviews and expenditure approvals.
• Provide technical guidance during planning, construction, startup, and validation.
