Job summary

Radiant in El Segundo, CA seeks a Senior Test Engineer to drive mission-critical test operations for the Kaleidos nuclear microreactor project. You will bridge engineering, operations, and human factors to translate complex hardware and software into executable test procedures, overseeing planning, risk mitigation, and data analysis in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience in engineering problem-solving, including system design, analysis, or testing.
• Bachelor's degree in mechanical, manufacturing, or related engineering discipline.
• Ability to apply first principles thinking to solve problems in uncertain situations.
• Background in highly regulated industries (nuclear, aerospace, aviation, maritime).
• Demonstrated ability to lead projects and work independently.
• Strong fundamentals in fluids and thermodynamics.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Flexible and self-driven mindset.

Responsibilities

• Perform testing as Test Conductor/Test Director to ensure procedures match real-world execution.
• Collaborate with design engineers to develop innovative test methods for complex mechanisms.
• Support testing and improvements of Kaleidos reactor hardware through development, qualification, and acceptance testing.
• Identify and source appropriate suppliers for components.
• Drive continuous improvement in test processes and data delivery quality.
• Support one-off test campaigns in fast-paced environments to reduce risk.
• Ensure compliance with DOE and NRC standards in procedural documentation.
