Job summary

General Dynamics Electric Boat is seeking a motivated test engineer for an engineering laboratory position in the Monitoring & Control Systems Group in Groton, CT. The role focuses on HMC hardware testing, lab configuration and maintenance, and on-hull support to ensure system reliability.

Qualified candidates will have 5+ years Navy or submarine shipbuilding experience, a high school diploma, and the ability to obtain a DoD security clearance.

Qualifications

• Requires 5+ years Navy or submarine shipbuilding experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance with DoD.
• Preferred: electrical/computer technician experience, experience in industrial environments, experience with network-based systems (Ethernet, fiber).
• Knowledge of military systems or component development for Naval platforms; project management and systems engineering practices including configuration management.

Responsibilities

• Perform HMC hardware component testing, configuration, integration and troubleshooting.
• Install, configure and maintain hardware within the HMC HDTS.
• Maintain hardware configuration management including baselining, version control and change tracking.
• Support lab logistics, including documentation, material ordering and asset tracking.
• Provide HMC system maintenance and troubleshooting support in-lab and on-hull (deck plate support, installation checks)
• Assist with system-level qualification testing, hardware/software testing, integration and troubleshooting.
• Verify system and component compliance with shipbuilding specs.
• Develop test procedures and support qualification test execution.
• Support development and maintenance of system/ component manuals.
