Job summary

Halogen Engineering Group is seeking a Test Engineer with 8+ years of experience in Linux/Bash to design, build, and maintain automated test solutions for REST APIs and web interfaces. TS/SCI with Poly clearance is required, and the role is onsite at Fort Meade, MD.

You will drive automation, CI/CD integration, and modernization of the in-house test framework. The candidate will analyze system requirements, develop test plans, and report results while collaborating with government test

Qualifications

• Eight (8) years’ experience as a Test Engineer or equivalent.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or four additional years of TE experience accepted.
• Strong Linux Bash scripting and command-line proficiency required.
• Experience building automated test solutions for REST APIs and web UIs.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and enhance automated test suites for back-end REST APIs and web UIs.
• Build a scalable test automation harness with CI/CD integration.
• Implement Python-based automation using Pytest with robust fixtures and data strategies.
• Create Docker/Podman container images for consistent automation across environments.
• Integrate test execution into Jenkins and GitLab CI/CD pipelines and ensure reliable runs.
• Migrate legacy Robot Framework implementations to modern platforms.
• Write and maintain SQL queries and incorporate database validation into tests.
