Job summary

Joby Aviation seeks a Senior Test Engineer to lead environmental control system testing for aircraft components, including fans, heat exchangers and controls. You will craft test plans, perform rigorous testing, analyze data, and help meet FAA certification standards.

The role requires strong hands-on lab experience, DO-160/MIL-810 familiarity is a plus, and you will work with DERs and certification engineers to ensure regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or related field with 8+ years in Test Engineering.
• Experience in thermal management, heat transfer, refrigeration and electro-mechanical testing.
• Hands-on verification and validation of electronics ventilation and cabin conditioning.
• Familiarity with lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, data acquisition systems, power analyzers.

Responsibilities

• Design and prepare tests, define objectives, and outline test procedures.
• Execute tests, collect data, and generate reports showing compliance for certification.
• Assist root cause analysis and communicate findings to stakeholders.
• Collaborate with engineers and DERs to ensure ECS meets design requirements.
