Job summary

Joby Aviation is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join the Manufacturing Test engineering team in San Carlos. You will help develop end-of-line testers for airborne electronics including low voltage computers, high voltage power electronics, batteries, motors, and actuators.

You will collaborate with Design, Manufacturing, Software, Systems, Production, and Quality Engineering. Responsibilities include defining test requirements, creating test plans, building tester concepts, documenting

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (or related field) with 2 years of relevant experience or advanced degree with relevant project experience.
Demonstrated organizational skills and attention to detail.
Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

Define requirements for acceptance testing product designs.
Establish test plans based on product requirements.
Design and build tester proof of concepts.
Balance product specs, process requirements, layout complexity, cost and lead-time to design and make testers.
Document testers, including electrical, harness, and circuitry drawings.
Coordinate with Production, Manufacturing Engineering, and Quality Engineering to deploy and qualify testers.
Coordinate to define operation, maintenance, and calibration of testers.
Drive continuous improvement on deployed testers.
