Job summary

Galvion, located in Portsmouth, NH, is seeking a Test Engineer III to plan, execute, and document verification and validation for small, man-portable electromechanical systems. You will work with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Programs to develop test methods, troubleshoot failures, and ensure products meet stringent requirements.

You will validate embedded electronics, sensors, RF modules, and mechanical assemblies, while supporting MIL-STD-810/461 compliance and production

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience testing small, battery-powered systems; military or medical-device experience is highly desirable.
• Strong hands-on experience with electrical and mechanical test equipment and instrumentation.
• Understanding of battery-powered systems and associated safety considerations.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and technical specifications.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and technical documentation skills.
• Familiarity with environmental qualification testing and military standards.
• Knowledge of reliability tools such as FMEA, HALT/HASS.
• Experience with data acquisition systems and/or automated test scripting.
• A meticulous, detail-oriented, and quality-conscious approach to engineering.

Responsibilities

• Develop comprehensive test plans, procedures, and acceptance criteria.
• Perform functional, performance, environmental, durability, and reliability testing.
• Operate electrical, mechanical, and environmental test equipment, including oscilloscopes, DAQs, battery analyzers, vibration tables, and thermal chambers.
• Analyze test results, troubleshoot failures, identify root causes, and support corrective actions.
• Validate embedded electronics, sensors, RF/communication modules, and mechanical assemblies.
• Support compliance testing to military standards such as MIL-STD-810 and MIL-STD-461.
• Design and build custom test fixtures, jigs, and instrumentation.
• Maintain accurate test reports, defect logs, configuration records, and traceability documentation.
• Support prototype builds, engineering evaluations, and production transition.
• Improve test methods, data collection, automation, and reliability analysis.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve testability, manufacturability, and long-term reliability.
