Job summary

Gavial Engineering & Manufacturing in California seeks a Senior Test Technician to perform electronic, mechanical, and electro-mechanical tests on systems and subassemblies, ensuring product readiness and pinpointing failures. You will collaborate with engineers to develop test procedures and generate NCRs for out-of-spec units.

The role requires strong schematic reading, proficiency with test equipment, and experience with LabVIEW or similar software.

Qualifications

• High school diploma with 15 years related experience, or
• Degree in Electronics or related field from a 2-year college/technical school with 10 years electronics related experience, or
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics or related field with 5 years electronics related experience

Responsibilities

• Assist engineers in developing test procedures and processes.
• Review test procedures, work orders, and schematics to determine equipment and setup for functional testing.
• Identify, justify and procure new test equipment and create SOPs.
• Perform internal certifications and calibrations of test equipment per procedures.
• Test functional performance under specified conditions using DMMs, hi-pot testers, signal generators, meters, spectrum analyzers or oscilloscopes.
• Record data, compare with specifications, generate NCRs for non-conforming items.
• Analyze test results to determine failure causes and troubleshoot to component level.
• Upload production software into electronic memory devices per engineering docs.
• Provide cost and labor estimates for test equipment and activities for quotes.
• Create connection diagrams and wiring lists from schematics for assembly teams.
• Manage Gavial ESD program, including training.
