Job summary

Galvion in Portsmouth, NH is seeking a Test Engineer III for hands-on verification and validation of advanced, small, battery-powered electromechanical systems. This on-site role collaborates with engineering, manufacturing, quality, and programs to craft robust test methods and ensure products meet stringent requirements.

You will plan and execute tests, analyze results, troubleshoot root causes, and document findings, supporting prototype builds and production transition.

Qualifications

• Requires hands-on hardware testing experience and strong technical documentation skills.
• Experience with electrical and mechanical test equipment and instrumentation is required.
• Familiarity with environmental qualification testing and military standards preferred.
• Experience with data acquisition and automated test scripts is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop test plans, procedures, and acceptance criteria.
• Perform functional, environmental, durability, and reliability testing.
• Operate oscilloscopes, DAQs, battery analyzers, vibration tables, and thermal chambers.
• Analyze results, troubleshoot failures, identify root causes, and support corrective actions.
• Validate embedded electronics, sensors, RF/communication modules, and mechanical assemblies.
• Support compliance testing to MIL-STD-810 and MIL-STD-461.
• Design and build custom test fixtures and instrumentation.
• Maintain test reports, logs, and traceability docs.
• Support prototype builds and production transition.
• Improve test methods, data collection, and reliability analysis.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve testability and reliability.
