Job summary

Galvion in Portsmouth, NH is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer III to join our engineering team. You will design and build advanced electro-mechanical systems integrated with the human body for demanding environments, working with program managers, industrial designers, systems architects, and electrical engineers.

You’ll create and review drawings, perform analyses, develop prototypes, and drive manufacturing-ready solutions through collaboration with suppliers and internal teams.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical Engineering required.
• 8–10 years in product development environment.
• Strong SolidWorks or equivalent 3D CAD with drawings.
• Experience with GD&T and engineering calculations.

Responsibilities

• Design mechanical components and electro-mechanical systems using 3D CAD/SolidWorks.
• Create and review drawings, GD&T, BOMs, and docs.
• Design packaging for electronic circuits and interconnections.
• Perform structural, thermal, heat-transfer, and tolerance analyses.
• Develop prototypes, assemble/test systems, and use 3D printers.
• Apply DFM for low- and high-volume production.
• Collaborate with suppliers to ensure quality and manufacturability.
• Participate in design reviews, troubleshooting, and sustaining engineering.
• Iterate designs with cross-functional teams.
• Support continuous improvement and engineering excellence initiatives.
