Job summary

Electra is advancing a breakthrough electrochemical technology to produce clean iron and critical minerals. The Test Engineer III role focuses on reliability testing, validation, and improvement of materials and systems across research, development, and pilot operations.

The successful candidate will design and execute tests, analyze data, and collaborate with engineering, R&D, and operations to drive durable performance and scale-up.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field; chemical, mechanical, materials, or electrical.
  • 5+ years in reliability engineering, testing, or product validation; or 3+ with a master’s.
  • Strong knowledge of reliability engineering principles and statistical analysis.
  • Experience with hydrometallurgical or electrochemical processes preferred.
  • Experience designing reliability tests, accelerated life testing, and validation activities.
  • Ability to analyze complex data and propose practical improvements.
  • Proficiency with JMP, Minitab, LabVIEW or similar tools.

Responsibilities

  • Own execution, operation, and improvement of pilot-scale systems.
  • Lead troubleshooting for process equipment and instrumentation.
  • Design and evaluate reliability and validation test plans.
  • Develop accelerated life tests and FMEA analyses.
  • Analyze testing data to identify trends and root causes.
  • Collaborate across teams to define measurement requirements and safety SOPs.
  • Develop test methods and documentation to ensure quality and repeatability.
  • Support root cause investigations with engineering judgment.
  • Communicate findings to diverse audiences.
  • Ensure lab activities comply with safety and quality standards.
