Job summary

Curtiss-Wright's Exlar team in Minnesota is seeking a Senior Test Engineer to design, develop, and execute test strategies for complex electromechanical systems used in production and development environments. You will lead hands-on testing, develop automated test scripts in Python, mentor junior staff, and work with engineering and manufacturing to improve test coverage and equipment efficiency.

This is a challenging, quality-driven role in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• Degree in a technical field such as Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
• 6–10+ years in test engineering or system validation.
• Proven ability to design and execute test strategies for complex systems.
• Experience with LabVIEW (CLD/CLA or equivalent).
• Hands-on with test equipment, wiring, ITAs, and DAQ hardware selection.
• Experience performing root cause analysis and process validation.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement cost-effective test methods and fixtures.
• Reverse engineer and modernize legacy test equipment.
• Perform hands-on test equipment assembly and integration.
• Develop test plans, scripts, and operator work instructions.
• Generate automated test reports and manage data traceability.
• Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing to improve test coverage and efficiency.
• Mentor junior engineers and drive continuous improvement.
