Job summary

42dot Inc. is seeking a Senior/Staff Test Automation Engineer to design and execute automated test frameworks for automotive ECUs and vECUs.

You will own end-to-end automation across SIL and HIL environments, building custom HIL benches, operating in a GNU/Linux ecosystem, and delivering robust test content for our Software-Defined Vehicle platform. The role requires deep Python and Bash scripting skills, C reading proficiency, and experience with Pytest/OpenHTF.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in EE/CS or related field.
• 5+ years of hands-on test automation for embedded systems.
• Expert Python and Bash; C reading knowledge for debugging.
• Experience with Pytest or OpenHTF test frameworks.
• Docker experience required.

Responsibilities

• Automation Framework Development: Design, build, and maintain scalable automated test frameworks for embedded automotive systems using Python and C/C++.
• HIL Bench Generation: Build custom physical HIL test benches, integrating ECUs with simulated models.
• Requirements Investigation: Analyze specifications to author automated test suites and identify gaps.
• Multi-Environment Execution: Run tests across SIL, MIL, and HIL environments.
• Analyze test captures and generate detailed engineering reports.
• Protocol Verification: Validate CAN, LIN, Automotive Ethernet, UDS, DoIP networks.
• CI/CD Integration: Integrate test loops into GitLab CI/Jenkins pipelines for regression.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Align with Firmware, Systems Architecture, Quality, and TPM teams.
