42dot is seeking a Senior/Staff Test Automation Engineer to design, develop, and run automated test frameworks for automotive ECUs and vECUs within SIL, MIL, and HIL environments. You will build custom HIL benches in a GNU/Linux ecosystem, and own end-to-end automation from requirements to validation.

The role bridges firmware and vehicle applications, focusing on robust, fail-safe test content for our Software-Defined Vehicle platform.

Qualifikationen

• Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• 5+ years (Senior) or 8+ years (Staff) hands-on experience in test automation for high-integrity embedded systems.
• Expert-level proficiency in Python and Bash scripting, with reading knowledge of C for debugging.
• Experience architecting or extending modern pythonic test frameworks (e.g., Pytest, OpenHTF).
• Docker experience required.

Aufgaben

• Automation Framework Development: design, build, and maintain scalable automated test frameworks for embedded automotive systems using Python and C/C++.
• HIL Bench Generation: build custom physical HIL test benches and integrate real ECUs with simulated environments.
• Requirements Investigation: analyze specs to create comprehensive automated test suites and find gaps.
• Multi-Environment Execution: run tests across SIL, MIL, and HIL.
• Analyze test captures and generate engineering reports.
• Protocol Verification: validate CAN-FD, LIN, Automotive Ethernet, UDS, DoIP networks.
• CI/CD Integration: connect test loops into Git-driven pipelines (GitLab CI/Jenkins).
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: work with Firmware, Systems Architecture, Quality, TPM to ensure ASPICE traceability.
