Job summary

CACI International Inc. is seeking a Senior Test Automation Engineer to design, build, and maintain automated test solutions for REST APIs and web UIs. The role emphasizes Python-based automation, containerized test execution, and CI/CD integration using Jenkins and GitLab.

You will evolve the in-house automation framework, migrate from legacy Robot Framework to modern platforms, and contribute to tests across backend and UI layers while leveraging Linux tooling and SQL validation.

Qualifications

• Must have a TS/SCI with a Current CI poly to start
• Strong experience with Linux and Bash shell scripting from the command line and handling large data sets
• Advanced experience building test automation in Python, including Pytest-based frameworks
• Experience with Docker (or Podman) including building and maintaining images used in automation and CI/CD workflows
• Working knowledge of Jenkins and GitLab pipelines, including running containerized workloads and managing automated test stages
• Experience with REST API testing including validation of responses and authentication flows
• Familiarity with Robot Framework UI automation using Selenium in Python
• Education: 8 years TE experience and a relevant bachelor’s degree; 4 years additional TE can substitute a degree

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and enhance automated test suites for back-end REST APIs and web UIs
• Build and maintain a scalable test automation framework with CI/CD integration
• Implement Python-based automation using Pytest, fixtures, and data strategies
• Create and maintain Docker/Podman container images for use in automation
• Integrate automated tests into Jenkins and GitLab pipelines with reliable reporting
• Use Linux CLI to parse logs, test outputs, and system data
• Support UI automation using Robot Framework and Selenium
• Plan and execute migration of in-house framework from Robot Framework to modern tools like Playwright
• Maintain SQL queries and integrate database validation in tests
• Troubleshoot CI failures and improve test reliability and coverage
• Contribute to continuous improvement of testing processes
