Job summary

Viasat is seeking an experienced software engineer in test automation to design scalable test frameworks and drive standardization of test data. You will collaborate with engineers from many domains to improve test frameworks, support new test strategies, and drive standardization of test data in a highly collaborative team environment.

In this role you will take a stake in the team’s mission to align with software engineering best practices, develop software, review code, perform integration

Qualifications

• 5+ years of systems and test experience in complex environments.
• Experience developing software in a team using version control, build automation, bug tracking and TD development.
• Highly experienced with National Instrument’s TestStand and C#; experience with Python.
• Experience implementing test automation, instrument drivers and other test tools.
• Experience creating test plans and fully documented reusable libraries and APIs.

Responsibilities

• Digest top-level requirements and provide feedback to ensure they are concise and testable.
• Derive software requirements from stakeholder needs.
• Design and document test software frameworks, services and libraries for long-term operation.
• Review and test contributions from colleagues and collaborators.
• Participate in continuous improvement to promote reuse and efficiency.
• Contribute test expertise on test equipment and instrumentation in software designs.
• Participate in technical discussions and support inquiries.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary engineers to support the factory.
