Job summary

Mercury Systems is seeking a Principal Test Engineer to lead the test strategy for mission-critical aerospace and defense embedded tech. You will own the full test lifecycle from DVT through production deployment, including automation, fixtures, and qualification documentation.

Ideal candidates will design test infrastructure as a product, develop embedded test firmware (SPI/I2C/UART), and collaborate across design, management, and manufacturing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or related field.
• 6+ years of electronics test engineering experience.
• Hands-on experience with FPGA verification and ASIC integration.
• Programming in Python and/or .NET for test automation and data analysis.
• Experience with MIL-STD-810H and MIL-STD-461G qualification testing.
• Proficiency with RF and digital test equipment and related software.
• Ability to obtain U.S. government security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute DVT plans for complex digital circuits and ASIC/FPGA integrations.
• Design, build, and certify test fixtures and interfaces.
• Create automated test systems and firmware for embedded targets.
• Conduct environmental and qualification testing per MIL standards.
• Lead TRR packages and production test handoffs.
• Interface with design engineering, program management, and manufacturing to resolve issues.
