Job summary

Berkshire Hathaway GUARD Insurance Companies in Hartford, CT is seeking a Territory Manager to own and grow the Connecticut and Rhode Island markets, building strong agency relationships and driving profitable commercial P&C business. You’ll travel frequently to meet agency partners, expand submission activity, and align with underwriting and leadership on guidelines, pricing, and growth plans.

Data-driven decisions and cross-functional collaboration are essential.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in territory management, production underwriting, or broker distribution.
• Experience growing a book of business through agency relationships.
• Knowledge of commercial P&C (Workers' Comp, BOP, Auto, Umbrella).
• Familiarity with the CT, RI market and agency environment.
• Experience using data and metrics to inform decisions.
• Clear and effective communication with agency partners and internal teams.
• Strong organizational skills and independent problem-solving in complex situations.

Responsibilities

• Use data (agency performance, market trends, competitor activity) to determine where to focus time and effort.
• Follow a consistent sales process, tracking activity, pipeline, and results.

Salary Range

$105,000-$130,000 USD + performance-based bonus potential and use of a company car.

In accordance with applicable pay transparency laws, this range represents a good‑faith estimate. Final compensation will be determined based on factors such as experience, credentials, geographic location, and other considerations permitted by law.
