Job summary

First Interstate Bank in Yankton, SD is seeking a Senior Teller to handle daily teller transactions in lobby and drive-up, deliver outstanding client service, and grow client relationships through referrals to banking products and other lines of business.

You will process deposits, loan payments, mortgage payments, currency exchange, check cashing, and cashier’s checks while maintaining cash drawers and complying with dual-control procedures.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED required.
• 1–3 years cash handling and customer service experience.
• Ability to handle confidential information.
• Strong math aptitude and communication skills.
• Knowledge of CRM systems and digital platforms.
• Adheres to cash handling standards and bank policies.

Responsibilities

• Process deposits, loan payments, mortgage payments, and other transactions.
• Deliver personalized client service in person and by phone.
• Process currency transactions and foreign currency exchange.
• Identify cross-sell and referrals to banking products.
• Maintain cash drawer and reconcile cash/coins.
• Record activities and referrals in the CRM/business system.
• Support dual-control procedures and security practices.
• Participate in volunteer and financial education efforts.
