Job summary

Department of Health and Social Services (DHSS) is seeking a Telecommunications/Network Technologist Supervisor to lead on-prem and cloud services, oversee SAN/server/network operations, and drive disaster recovery initiatives within the Information Resource Management unit.

The role combines supervisory responsibilities with hands-on technical work to ensure robust, scalable communications infrastructure for the agency.

Qualifications

• Three years experience in planning, designing and installing data networks for telecommunications needs.
• Six months experience in developing strategic plans for expansion and installation of data network infrastructure.
• Knowledge of IT project management including planning, scheduling, coordinating, controlling, monitoring and reporting on IT projects.

Responsibilities

• Plan, design and implement new or upgraded data networks including bandwidth planning and protocol deployment.
• Supervise installation/maintenance of networking equipment and connections.
• Develop tactical and strategic plans for data networks to meet current and future needs.
• Research and evaluate emerging technologies for network optimization and security.
