Job description

The Senior Network Engineer provides operational support for DHS’s nationwide network, including software maintenance, upgrades, and telecommunications support for data, voice, wireless, and imaging systems. The role encompasses infrastructure management, configuration control, Tier 3 support, network and hardware troubleshooting, resource planning, backup and recovery support, and system tuning. Additional duties include managing electronic software licensing, firewall/system management, IT operations planning, continual service improvement, data quality management, balanced scorecard activities, transformation services, and IT infrastructure optimization to ensure DHS network reliability and performance.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

• 15 years experience providing network engineering support on programs related to network systems and infrastructure with over 5,500 field sites, 2 or more datacenters/colocation facilities, and 250,000+ users.
• CCNP – Active
• ITIL v4 – Active

Preferred Qualifications:

• 15+ years supporting DHS LAN/WAN
• 10+ years supporting DHS System ATO and C&A activities
• Experience supporting DHS St. Elizabeth Campus network
• Experience supporting network modernization projects
